Matt Cutts: SEO

Peter Da Vanzo

Here’s an excellent post by Matt Cutts, which proves that he may graduate to being an SEO yet ;)

His SEO advice could be summed up:

  • Include keywords in the title and the url
  • Use semantic variations of keywords
  • Answer a question in the way that a visitor would phrase a question
  • Impart knowledge – use lots of text

All well known points, of course.

The best point, however, has to do with marketing.

“But the larger point is that if you put in time and research to produce or to synthesize original content, think hard about what niches to target”

Supply and demand. If you find demand, and lack of supply, then you really don’t need to do much, other than fill that gap.
