Aaron interviews usability queen Kim Krause-Berg, and receives a few tips in the process.
Is this blog usable? Unusable?
One thing I like about current blog design is, for better or worse, it’s all fairly standardized. Of course, you can also avoid design issues altogether by reading blogs in a feed reader. Control has been handed to the user, because the content has been separated from design.
Kim makes this point, with which I agree wholeheartedly: it’s about the writing.
No amount of window dressing or content management will make up for a failure to understand why we are writing blogs, or who we’re writing for.
Oh, and headlines matter. A lot
