Sometimes it feels like there are not enough hours in a day to get everything done that we want to do. Since we all receive the same 1440 minutes to spend every day, the solution SHOULD be simple, but it never is. Is it?
Expecting Too Much of Ourselves
Quite often we are trying to do too much and need to be more realistic about what can and cannot be done. If we cannot simplify our lifestyles then eventually we are going to have to admit that we are not Superman. You can’t do it all. Something has to give. Take a long hard look at your schedule and make some modifications.
Wasting Too Much Time
Sometimes we are unknowingly wasting too much of the time that we do have.
It’s not usually the hours that we lose – it’s the minutes here and there that add up too much more time than we realize.
How much time do we spend waiting throughout the week?
If you are waiting in a doctor’s office, could you spend that time jotting down ideas for your next blog post? Could you get some of your social networking done while waiting in line at the grocery store?
What if we stopped wasting the lost time and use it for something productive?
Now before you take that too far, I don’t believe every moment of our lives should be scheduled doing something productive.
Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.” – Marthe Troly-Curtin
If we stop at the local coffee shop to relax for 15 minutes, it is perfectly okay to just sit there staring out the window doing absolutely nothing.
You have heard it a thousand times but I am still going to say it again…
It’s all a matter of finding balance.
