Google Adds “Powerpoint”

In an ongoing mission not to compete with Microsoft Office, Google now adds a presentation application to their suite.

First of all, we want to welcome the team from Tonic Systems to Google. Tonic, which we’ve just acquired, is based in San Francisco and Melbourne, Australia. They have some great technology for presentation creation and document conversion, and it will be a great addition as we add presentation sharing and collaboration capabilities to Google Docs & Spreadsheets

So, they’ve got mail, word processing, spreadsheets, calendar, database and presentation.

Office has got mail, word processing, spreadsheets, calendar, database and presentation.

It’s beyond me how anyone could possibly think of making comparisons…. ;)
