Google Gets Into The Ebook Trade

Peter Da Vanzo

Google plan to do to books what Apple did to music:

“The internet search giant is working on a system that would allow readers to download entire books to their computers in a format that they could read on screen or on mobile devices such as a Blackberry”

Inevitable, and a good thing, but not the end of printed books.

Hopefully it will mean cheaper books, and a much wider range, as the new economies of distribution kick in.

This would mean a LOT cheaper books if they were honest about it and passed along the discount that was saved from both distribution and manufacturing.
