Dallas Mavericks owner and tech entrepreneur, Mark Cuban, had this to say about YouTube:

“Would Google be crazy to buy YouTube? No doubt about it. Moronic would be an understatement of a lifetime“

Now he’s reportedly considering buying an independent news agency that’s suing YouTube site for copyright violations. It has been reported that Google has put aside a contingency fund to fight lawsuits of this nature.

“So Google didn’t earmark $500 million to spend trying to prevent or to defend itself against the copyright infringement lawsuits that it may face with its acquisition of pirated-video-laden YouTube. Nope, it is only about $224 million, says Google CEO Eric Schmidt“.

Schmidt is becoming a true master of semantics.

Smart business move? Just making a point? Both?
