Googles Goal Shifting?

Google’s goal has always been: “Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful”.

This goal appears to be shifting. Or clarified, perhaps.
ZDnet writes: “Google CEO Eric Schmidt asserted at the company’s Q2 conference “our goal at Google is to have the strongest advertising network and all the world’s information”

Google is set to earn £900m from UK advertising revenues, which is more than what is spent on Channel 4 television advertising.

Last month, the Internet Advertising Bureau released figures indicating a 40 percent increase – a massive £917m – in online marketing over the first half of 2006; that’s half the size of the UK’s television advertising market

Things are looking (ever) upwards for SEM agencies.

Speaking of which, my friend Aaron Wall is setting up an agency called “Clientside SEM“. Best wishes, guys.

Another of my friends, Mark Sceats, is looking to hire a couple SEM people in New Zealand.
