Sergey “Getting Lost” In Google

Sergey Brin is calling for a refocus:

Brin is leading an initiative across the company entitled ‘Features, not products’, after executives realised users were baffled. ‘It’s worse than that,’ confessed Brin. ‘It’s that I was getting lost in the sheer volume of the products that we were releasing

Perhaps the real problem is almost certainly a limited amount of traction with users. If users had picked up on everything-Google, Google would surely continue to throw beta after beta at the wall.

Given that hasn’t happened, Google may try to integrate services. Perhaps pull all the services together into an integrated application layer, like Notes….only a lot more Googly.
