Microsoft Lands Facebook

Microsoft has cut a deal with Facebook, a leading social networking site:

Software giant Microsoft has started an exclusive deal to provide banner advertising and sponsored links for social networking website Facebook….Details of the new agreement, which is expected to start running later this year, have yet to be released….Microsoft said it thought the combination would be “incredibly attractive to advertisers“.

Given Google recently paid $900 million for a similar deal with MySpace, I don’t think the term “got a bargain!” will apply here.

The deal with use MSN’s Adcenter.
