Google Toolbar: Bug
GoogleBlogoscoped report on a Google toolbar feature that, when enabled, “defends†against other programs trying to switch the default browser search engine to something other than Google.
Heh.
However Google say it’s a bug, and they are working on correcting it.

That’s strange. I finally got around to installing the Google toolbar a few weeks ago–and for some reason it set my default search engine in Firefox to . . . nothing. I always had to choose Google to search from my browser search box. It stayed like that for a few days before I got too annoyed and uninstalled the Google toolbar. Apparently this “feature” didn’t work so well for me.

Laughs. I’m sure that’s the last thing they want!

I’ve had some issues with the toolbar and tried to restore the original settings and it’s not real user friendly.
