Ebay Says No To Google Checkout
All over the news today.
Not a surprising move, however Ebay had this to say:
“Checkout “didn’t past muster with a policy that’s been in place for nine months,” Durzy said, citing a requirement that payment services “has a substantial historical track record of providing safe and reliable financial and/or banking related services.”
Uh-huh. Nothing to do with competitive threat, then 
As Google rightly point out:
“Billing and payments have been a core part of Google’s advertising programs and online services for years”
