How To Make Money With Blogs
Blogs don’t make money. Well, some do – but if making money is your aim, then blogging is a really hard way to do it.
Still, if you’re the determined type, then Chris has a few pointers on how to write a profitable blog….
….which I’m going to disagree with. *laughs* Well, not entirely. It’s a good list. However, there are a few other points worth considering.
Take a step back and ask yourself if blogging is the right medium for what you’re doing. The blog world is is driven by news, issues and opinion, which doesn’t always gel well with selling stuff directly.
Adsense can be an easy way to monetarise, but if your audience is Adsense-adverse, or they really like reading your writing, then your Adsense checks are unlikley to be large. It really depends on your niche – if your niche is consumer focused, then you’re more likely to make money with Adsense.
My last point – look at your competition. It’s really difficult to get blogs established in saturated niches. Try to pick a new angle, or pick a different space altogether.

Heh heh. Perhaps a bold title: “Adsense Is Not A Substitute For A Business Case”.

Heh heh – nice one, Julie.
The best benefit I’ve got by blogging, thus far, is the networking aspect. It’s amazing how much easier business becomes when people already know who you are and what you’re about – and you’ve never even met!

I am getting tired of people trying to teach me how to make money online.

Perhaps we should start a “how not to make money on line” conversation.
I’ll start – fail to renew a domain name because you “forgot”. Been there, done that

2. Not know the difference between revenue and profits.
